A film by Azerbaijan director at the Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema
The Kazan International Festival of Muslim Cinema is an open international film festival annually held since 2005 in Kazan, Tatarstan republic capital.
An idea of the festival is contained in its motto “To the dialogue of cultures through the culture of dialogue”. Films chosen for the festival’s program transmit an idea of peacemaking, tolerance, liberal attitude towards religion. They tell about ways to construct interethnic dialogue regardless of author’s religion.
The competitive programme will be evaluated by a jury headed by famous director Alexander Proshkin, a People’s artist of Russia, a laureate of the USSR State Prize. Finally, 10 statuettes in nominations and special prizes will be awarded. 60 films from 33 countries have become candidates for forum’s awards. These are works in Story Feature, Story Short, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short and Animated Feature Film nominations, and also almanac’s by young Russian directors included into new contest group Young Russia.
